Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Plant Doctor you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What Plant Doctor does

Plant Doctor identifies plants from photos, suggests care plans, diagnoses visible plant problems and schedules care reminders. Results are generated by Anthropic Claude through our protected Firebase backend.

3. Not professional advice

AI identification and diagnosis are informational and may be inaccurate. Plant Doctor is not a substitute for professional horticultural advice. Never ingest a plant based on the app's identification — toxicity errors are possible.

4. Free tier and subscriptions

• The free tier includes 1 plant and 2 AI scans per day.
• Pro unlocks all features, up to 30 plants, and unlimited scans via auto-renewing subscription (yearly or monthly) or a one-time lifetime purchase.
• Payment is charged through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel in your store account settings anytime.
• Refunds are handled by Apple/Google according to their policies.

5. Community and user content

The app includes a community feed where users post their own text and photos. You must accept these Terms before any content can be read or published, and you are responsible for everything you post.

The following content is prohibited and will be removed: insults, harassment, hate speech, threats, violence, sexually explicit or otherwise adult material, spam and advertising, impersonation, and anything unlawful.

• Filtering. Every post and comment is screened before it is published, and submissions that violate these rules are rejected.
• Reporting. Every post and comment can be reported with a reason. Reported content is hidden from the reporter immediately and from everyone once several independent reports arrive.
• Blocking. Every author can be blocked. Their posts and comments disappear from your feed instantly, and the block is delivered to our moderation queue.
• Our response. We review reports within 24 hours, remove violating content and terminate the access of the author who posted it. Serious or repeated violations end community access permanently.

By posting you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display your content in the app. You may delete your own posts at any time. We may remove content or end community access at our discretion when these rules are broken.

6. Fair use

Do not abuse the AI scan service (automated mass requests), reverse engineer the app, or use it in violation of applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, illustrations and content are our property. Your photos remain yours; you grant us a transient licence to process them solely to provide identification results.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for plant loss or damage resulting from following AI suggestions, or for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means acceptance. The current version always lives at this page.
